Radisson Blu Plaza El Bosque Santiago

I stayed in this hotel from 25 Feb to 14 March. Hotel service is terrible. Towels not clean, bedsheet have stains, facial tissue in toilet not replenished. Coffee capsules also not replenished. After 1st night of staying, water not replenished too. I called reception to ask for water, they said I must pay for the water ??? Communication between the staffs are not in line. During my stay there was a sewage problem and the whole floor smell like poop. There were excessive banging and knocking from morning 8am till late afternoon. Many guests complain. During this period of time when I extended my stay , 1 staff confirmed and the next couple of hours another staff (the supervisor ***) called me to ask me to check out immediately at 12.30pm and was speaking badly to me. I had to tell him firmly at least 3 times the hotel has confirmed my extension earlier at 9.30am. Following an unauthorised credit card charge of *** USD to my credit card. I had to go down to reception to settle everything with the supervisor. At first when confronted on the unauthorised charge, *** claimed the charge was automatically charged by hotel because of hotel extension, but the amount charged was wrong as well. There was an overcharge. After questioning him, he twisted his words and said the charge is A HOLD on my hotel stay ??? The hotel has already had a *** USD hold on my credit card from 1st day when I checked in. Now *** claimed he had to charge me another *** USD for ON HOLD because I extended my stay of another 3 nights ??? Totalling to *** USD “ON HOLD” for 3 nights in a 4 star hotel ??? Even 5 stars 6 stars hotels don’t hold *** USD for 3 nights stay. My whole experience is really terrible. 2 days in a row, room cleaning didn’t replenish the facial tissue. I called reception for a tissue box, they say the whole hotel has NO TISSUE for me. I have to wait till morning. What kind of 4 star hotel is this ? Seriously ?!?!

We stayed in Radisson Blu for 5 nights. Personally, it’s an excellent location. It’s in the business district, which gave us a feeling of greater safety. In contrast, at the city proper, we were always told by tour guides to watch over our belongings. And for this reason alone, I don’t mind staying here again. The mall is also near a great mall, Parque Arauco. It was a 10-15 minute walk. We availed of the breakfast. Cooking is good, but the same for all days. At some point, of course, we got tired of the same scrambled eggs served. The breakfast is primarily western fare, and I was hoping that they’d have a dish or two that’s Chilean. Rooms are cleaned very well, though refill of the water and replacement of tissues were at times inconsistent. Gym: well equipped but can be crowded if you exercise at past 7:00am. But — open 24 hours. Pool: Was a bit of a disappointment. It opens at 9:00am. This is inconvenient for tourists like us, because we would/should be out on tour by then. Front desk: Thankfully, we were allowed to check in early given that we arrived at the hotel at around 7am, and of course, we agreed to pay an additional night’s charge. I guess the disappointment was during checkout. We wanted to extend and we were willing to pay for it. Two days before checkout, I already inquired about it. The lady at the front desk told us to come back on the day of our checkout. I asked if the hotel is fully booked on the day of our checkout (Saturday), and she said she didn’t know. On the eve of our checkout, Saturday at 1:00am, I asked the front desk again, and the same lady if the hotel is fully booked and inquired again about an extended checkout. She curtly replies and says: “As I’ve told you before, you will find out on the day of checkout.” (Uhm, Señorita, it was THE day of checkout already). And we were told to come back during breakfast. So during breakfast, we got an official answer. Hotel was supposedly fully booked, but we were allowed late checkout at 1:00pm. The strange thing: I checked both Agoda and Expedia. They had at least 5 rooms available. Take note: I was willing to pay full price for an additional night to extend until 6 or 7pm. But at some point, one gets tired of dealing with a frontliner who come across as uncaring, and kinda stain the experience for you. Hopefully, she is an exception to the others who otherwise, made our stay a good one.

Even with multiple sports teams and international industrial event guests, this Radisson Blu felt roomy and quiet. Its minutes away from most company HQ’s and convenient parking garage if arriving by car.
