Room was a good size, clean and with a comfortable bed. Bathroom also good and spacious. Breakfast a bit disappointing with poor fruit and bread selections and limited hot options - expected better for 20 euros. Restaurant also had limited choices and quite high prices so went elsewhere for our evening meal.

The hotel is exceptionally well located. It is literally just steps from Gare Part-Deux, and the Rhône Express which goes directly to the airport is also at the hotel’s front door. The food market Les Halles is a 10 minute walk away. Despite this great location, the hotel is very quiet. They also gave out a sample of some excellent-high end chocolate one day. It was so good that I went to the shop to get more. They provided a baby bed, which was clean and in very good condition.

We had 2 very comfortable rooms( a quad and a double) which had all necessary amenities. The AC was not strong enough but we were given a fan, which helped. Breakfast was of very good quality but missed some fresh salad and sweets (apart from croissants). Not sure it's worth the Eur 19.50 it costs! Location can't be beaten as it's only a couple of metres away from train and metro station, yet very quiet. Proximity of shopping mall and restaurants is also very convenient. Although there were a few homeless sleeping on the street, they never bothered us and we felt very safe, even at night.

Great location, clean and appointed. The shower is wonderful. Only issue was the sofa bed. We travelled with our two teenage daughters, who complained about it being super bulky and extremely noisy, even if they moved a little. Mercure should consider renovating them. Other than that, great stay.

My family of 3 stayed for 2 nights and highly recommend. Pros: Location is steps away from train station for convenience. Spacious and best laid out room for small family. Room to move, small table and chairs to relax, comfortable beds. Surprisingly quiet. The room overlooks the city and train station but besides a light hum from the bigger freight trains, no noise. We appreciated the fun lobby with lizards and fish for kiddos. Area for improvement - the wait staff in restaurant could be a little more pleasant.

Modern hotel, big room, verycomfortable bed, Even my wife was happy. Friendly,professional staff.Good air cond.Location is right across street from Airport tram and 2 mins. walk to train stadion. To get to city centre go for Uber as tram is slow and crowded. Uber is 12 EUR. Had dinner one night in hotel restaurant. This was the best meal and the best service we had during the 4 days in Lyon!

We found the hotel to be modern and clean. In spite of its location right by the main train station, the room was extremely quiet. We found it convenient in that we were able to walk from the train station as well as from the car rental agencies after dropping off our car. The bed was comfortable and the shower had good pressure. We appreciated the good coffee and complementary filtered water in the lobby. A minor inconvenience was that Uber drivers could not pick up or drop off in front of the hotel and you did have to walk a block for pick up. Otherwise, the train station taxi stand was nearby. Our only complaint was with the air conditioning as it didn’t really cool down the room to the temperature it was set at and we experienced high temperatures while visiting Lyon. Overall, a good stay.

Pros: - very conveniently located at the Part-Dieu hub for public transit and the airport shuttle Rhonexpress - very nice breakfast buffet, though it is unchanging day to day - generally well appointed room (though small to be called a suite) - water and nespresso coffee in the lobby much appreciated - restaurant staff are very friendly and helpful - room service was great evening of arrival - check in at noon is great for transatlantic guests Cons: - very poor ventilation in the room, it was uncomfortably warm and humid. This was brought up twice with the front desk (+once at checkout) - the attendant was quite rude and condescending about this (I’m not looking for freezer conditions, I’m quite happy at 23C, but the room seldom dipped below 27-28C). Very disappointing for this caliber of hotel… who knew that Mercure truly meant heat. - The shower drain is not calibrated for the water flow. Within 5 min of the mist spray (not the big shower head), water was already overflowing. Similar for the sink. - No Expedia VIP amenity (we were told that they sometimes offer parking, but that is useless, especially for travelers selecting a hotel next to a train station and transportation hub!$ - One of the lobby attendants (woman with large glasses working regularly on days and evenings of the week of May 26) was quite unpleasant, especially with regards to opening the lobby door for us on arrival. I can wait a bit if the front desk is busy, but she would make us wait 2+ min.

The location is perfect. Next to the train station. The only thing that needs to improve is the variety of the breakfast buffet. A little of fruits and vegetables would not hurt. Also, the pillows are like super soft, which is not welcome when you need head support. Other than that, all is good. Oh, one thing: the shower is amazing!!!

We stayed at this hotel because it was nicely situated near the train station and we were very pleased with the whole experience. The hotel was very comfortable and wheelchair accessible which was a huge benefit. Overall the city is better for wheelchair mobility than Paris barring the odd construction works here and there.
