    Spent two nights at Suite Lanka during the off-season and it was so peaceful. The staff were exceptional, especially Siri, who always made sure we were comfortable. The breakfasts were superb! If you're in Hikkaduwa, this place is home.

    We recently stayed at Suite Lanka in their Premier Sea View Room, and it was a truly memorable experience. The room itself was incredibly spacious and beautifully furnished, perfectly in keeping with the colonial charm of the property. The large balcony, complete with a comfortable sofa, offered the most stunning view of the ocean — a peaceful spot to unwind and soak in the beauty of the coastline. Inside, the room was thoughtfully equipped with all the little details that elevate a stay: dual sinks in the bathroom, a generously sized shower, tea-making facilities, a torch for late-night use, both chilled and room temperature water, plug adapters, and more. The room was also subtly scented with a citrus fragrance, which added a refreshing touch and helped to keep mosquitoes at bay. Although the beach directly in front of the hotel was beautiful, the waves were a little too powerful and dangerous for swimming during our stay. That said, just 2km away is Turtle Bay, which is very easy to get to. You could walk there if you’re feeling energetic, or it’s just as easy to hail a tuk tuk from the roadside. Turtle Bay offers a truly special experience — each day, you can take part in releasing baby turtle hatchlings into the ocean, which was a magical and unforgettable moment for our family. But while the room and surroundings were beautiful, it was the staff and their outstanding service that truly set Suite Lanka apart. As a British family travelling with grandparents and a young child, we probably weren’t the easiest guests — but nothing was too much trouble. The staff were consistently attentive, kind, and worked seamlessly as a team to make sure we had everything we needed. A special mention must go to the chef, who truly went above and beyond. One of the items on the dessert menu — the pineapple and carrot cake — wasn’t available when we first arrived. My husband asked if it might be possible to try it during our stay, and to our amazement, the chef came in on his day off the next day to make it especially for us. We are eternally grateful for that incredibly kind gesture — it meant the world. Breakfast was made to order and, while it did take a little time to arrive, it was always freshly prepared and well worth the wait. Everything was cooked to a high standard and served with care. Suite Lanka is a rare gem — a peaceful retreat with elegance, comfort, and service that goes far beyond expectations. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.
