    Our stay was very good at Araliya. The facilities at the hotel are very good which includes a very big pool,one infinity pool at the 14th floor from where the view is super fantastic of Indian Ocean, a bwach bar on the beach,kids play room. Hotel gave us complimentary access to the infinity pool when we requested one of the Hotel staff "Divya" when we where checking in. She was very hrlpfull. Only thing which we did not like was that the hotel charged extra for children of 5 year age also. Nowhere i have stayed durning my SriLanka trip any hotel charged any thing for a 5 year old kid even when we had not taken any extra bed. Over all the stay was good.

    Perfect location with a view. Cleanliness was good. Staff should be more professional when they talk to their guests. I felt like staffs were judging local customers. Whenever we are at the beach, security staffs were standing next to us and we didn’t have privacy and they were listening to what we were talking. So I feel like all staff should be retrained. Otherwise all okay.

    We stayed for a very relaxing 3 nights in June, all of the staff were kind, attentive and knowledgeable, going above and beyond, they were happy to recommend good places for food and activities. We had the signature massage for ultimate relaxation, it was wonderful! The room was beautiful and well appointed, the waterfall shower was particularly lovely. Special mention to Hasitha who made up our room beautifully and left behind clever towel art animals. The sea view was magical, we sat on our balcony and watched a troop of purple faced langurs moving through the trees below. It was wonderful to have such easy access to the beach, we swam in the sea and the soundtrack of prayers from the Buddhist temple next door in the evening made it extra special. We highly recommend the local cuisine in the hotel restaurants, especially the hoppers at breakfast, the offerings were varied and tasty with large servings. Special thanks to chef Chaminda, we had a perfect breakfast at olives restaurant. The seafood grill restaurant was also lovely, with a variety of fresh caught fish on offer. The hotel was quieter due to visiting during the week and in the rainy season which made the trip feel all the more exclusive and a bit of wind and the occasional downpour did little to dampen our enjoyment of the resort and surroundings.

    What's good? 1. West facing view from high floors 2. Infinity pool 3. Location right at the end of shopping lane What's bad? 1. Very curt and rude managers 2. Very average buffet 3. Stony, small busy beach 4. Very old musty rooms with old looking furniture. Not worth the price
