    The hotel location is a bit far from the very nice not so far from Eichigo Yuzawa station, but it's convenience since i can take a bus direct from the station to the bus stop near by the Kagura Taisho Ski Resort. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the bus stop and definitely it's close to the ski resort. It's very nice. The place is clean. The staff are very nice and supportive. All can speak English, so no problems on communication. I'll stay here next skiing time.

    The hostel is near Tashiro Station, which is a convenient base for skiing in this area. It feels more like a youth hostel, so it’s better suited for younger travelers. The room space is a bit tight, and in winter the snow in front of the entrance can be very deep, making it quite hard to carry luggage from the bus stop. On the positive side, breakfast and dinner are great value for money, and I’d recommend adding meals if you stay here. Overall, a good option for younger guests who travel light and want affordable meals near the ski area.

    Newly renovated space that’s been well thought out. Lots of space outside the room, including boot room and ski storage. Tatami room was as expected from the photos, tho the futons were on the thinner end - probably what I’d be most critical of. Limited options for food in the little town. No grocery or convenience stores. Last buses from Yuzawa when we stayed was around 6.40pm so you can’t really have a Dinner in town if you don’t have a car. So you’ll need to do some prep beforehand to get ingredients from Yuzawa. LUCKILY little Echigo Japan has a very well equipped kitchen and for 1500yen per person (2000yen if you include breakfast) they do a simple but hearty and tasty dinner which makes things a lot simpler. They also do drinks too. A coupon per night to use at the local onsen that’s a couple min walk down the road is included in your stay. Beautiful!

    This is a typical lodge for skiers and got everything you need for the price you are paying for. Not ideal for family with children. Helpful staff. However the food is limited and there is no selection for packaged meals. Ie- you would have a problem if you are a vegetarian. Overall this is good for solo skiers , couples or group of friends
