The only thing that spoiled my experience was seeing a guy get beat up on the street outside my window, and no one doing anything to help. Great hotel, rough neighborhood unfortunately.

We enjoyed a weekend stay at this hotel - I think the hotel is fairly new - however the bedrooms did smell slightly damp - maybe open the windows ? - the staff were lovely as were most of the people we met in Coventry <3 - the rooms were clean and had a mini fridge which was a bonus - it was central and had a nice rooftop bar - would stay here again definately

• Slightly strange and not very welcoming "welcome" by reception staff - barely a word said, room number confusingly written ("056" for room 56 on floor 1 and floor 0 was the ground floor), and merely just pointed back toward the entrance to indicate "the rooms are down there" (I got the impression she was new from how her colleague interacted with her, but still not good)
• Led to believe from booking site info that room had a bathtub - it did not
• Unpleasant smell in fridge
• TV remote control inexplicably difficult to figure out and temperamental too - lots of standard functions e.g., TV guide not available, buttons often didn't work
• Very limited TV channels - not even the full Freeview selection
• No network connectivity on TV, so no YouTube app access
• Air-conditioning not sufficient for whole room (only for upstairs)
• Style/aesthetics over everything else, including H&S and the quite dangerous staircase
• Lots of odd disturbing noises, rumbling, knocking
• Poor Wi-Fi quality/bandwidth
Essentially, lots of mostly minor issues and annoyances, but they build up, especially for a seemingly premium hotel (considering typical prices of rooms, this "duplex" in particular).
Disappointing.
