Entering the house we first thought we were bursting into the wrong house. Unlike a regular hotel this place appeared to be.. lived in. But no. What we found here was just a place that had friendliness and openness written into its DNA. A warm place with everything one needs and plenty of room. It was great.

Johannes was welcoming, his house was easy to find, and it’s in a very convenient location. I took my 12 year old daughter for a one night stay. We loved the room we stayed in, and we enjoyed Johannes! He’s a good friend. Everything about our stay was easy. Perfect!

No lock on the front door - anyone can pull the latch from the outside to open. No locks on the rooms. The bedding was used and not clean. Ended up with insect bites after two nights there. The booking was cheap so I wasn’t expecting anything great, but I don’t think anyone should expect to have to stay in these conditions.

This "hotel" is inside the home of a local guy and there are lots of unclear things in the arrangement. Make sure that you download WhatsApp beforehand, otherwise it's not possible to check in or to communicate with the host. He was a bit rude, bragging about how succesful he is and then saying "now it's time for you to go to bed cause I have to rest", after he had talked continuously about his life for 15 minutes with me listening (just wanting to be polite). There is no place to lock in valuables and the door out to the street is unlocked so I didn't want to stay in town too long at night in case someone would steal my computer from the room. In the bathroom it says "don't spill water on the floor", but there is no proper shower curtain there to block the water from falling out. The location of the house is pretty good and I don't really mind sleeping on a mattress, but overall this was a bad experience. It's not a hotel!

This accomodation is just a guys house in the centre of Bruges, not a Hotel, b&b or anything comparable. The rooms are very simple, just like in the photos. BUT the bed sheets were not changed so there was someone elses Hair in My bed. furthermore the bath was untidy as well and there was a shower limit of two minutes. The worst thing though was that you are not able to lock your room. Since the front door wasn't locked either anyone could have just gotten in the house and in your room. All in all this is not a nice place to stay for vacation - it is more like a flat/ house sharing accommodation!

Although the rooms look like on the picture, we had an awful experience with the owner. His emails were very strange when replied, also responded to things we did not ask, they were clearly copy pasting from some general info of the guest house. There was no explanation of which room is ours, did not understand why we don't even get a key to anything, basically the flat turned out that anyone from the streets could go in an out as they wish. When we arrived, the guy was laying in his part of the apartment downstairs in underwear!!!! Didn't even bother to get out of his "bed" to welcome us or direct us to our room, made us feel very uncomfortable. If you want something cheap, feel free to stay here, but if you want to be comfortable on your trip to this beautiful city me and my friend would definitely suggest elsewhere! Showers are also limited to a 2 minute use! Room was full of mosquitos and the floors were so squeaky as well not possible to sleep.

Unable to lock the room when you aren't there. No security at front door wich is always open. If you are happy to stay in a spare room upstairs in a mans house then this is fine for you. But if you want a hotel, a front desk, anything but two small mattresses on the floor then this is not for you.

It should be told that it was number 26 on the street - we wondered around the street for half an hour, and had to bother the neighborhood before opening the correct door. The host may seem a bit weird at first but turns out to be quite nice. Wifi was turned off from 11pm?
