The St. Regis on the Bund, Shanghai

I would advise all guest to double confirm the views you will get when booking. Even though this is st. regis, I was fairly disappointed to find the room first assigned to me was partially blocked with a wall of another building and i could only see the shanghai tower when leaning against the window. I guess said room is more on the 'deluxe room' listed here . (Even then, the deluxe room listing here don't state there it is a partial view.) The problem here is I paid extra to get Yu garden view. I went down to the front desk to ask why I was not given the view I booked for and the reason they gave me was that some floors were under reno and there is no room available bla bla bla. After some exchange, some young male manager came out and managed to assign me a room that has the promised view but not without some redundant comments like "I hope this fulfils your requirements". Such passive aggressiveness is highly unappreciated. After a long flight handling a baby, all I wanted to have was a quick rest and hence let it go unchecked. Also, housekeeping was careless. My hair accessories was dropped in-between the bedside table and bed. If not for my spouse checking, I would have missed it. They also do not check in between the bedsheets when changing them. My pink Tabio socks went missing and they said they cannot find it in the laundry. (and its not in my luggage as well). It got me extremely upset. I am guessing they lost it and got too lazy to find it as it was just a pair of socks (albeit my favourite pair) Such a huge contrast in service to four seasons , which even located the socks before i even know it was missing. hah. TLDR: Do not leave items in between sheets, check gap between bed and bedside table. Check actual view you're getting for deluxe and yu garden view room.

It is a great room with awesome view (Panoramic Bund View Room) Breakfast buffet is great, and is worthwhile to purchase it as a package rather than buy there as it is relatively expensive for what you get. Not much rotation of buffet choices but the noodles taste really good. Fruits are fresh and pastry taste decent. They will send your Taobao purchases to your room but for Meituan orders, you have to collect them yourself on the first floor. There is no robot.

I’ve had better and I’ve had worse. The staff were nice! It could use a cleaning.. especially the carpets.

We truly appreciate the hotel’s dedication and effort in going above and beyond to fulfill our requests - it made our stay wonderful and pleasant.
