The free tour arranged by the hotel was excellent and informative, we loved our guide Michiko! Japanese breakfast was delicious and beautifully arranged and served. Coffee on the rooftop scenic and serene.

It's my first time staying at Hotel New Wakasa. I travelled with my husband and two kids (10 and 15 yo). We took train and walked about 15 minutes to the hotel.
We have booked the room with our own tub with mountain view. We were greeted by the friendly staff. They took us to the room. There were some complimentary drinks for adults and kids.
The room was very clean and we liked the design a lot. Slippers were all prepared at the front door. Our booking included one half board dinner and a breakfast. The staff will come to our room to set up the bed when we stepped out for dinner.
The food was delicate and delicious. During dinner, the hotel had hired someone to play music and she would come to each table and asked if there's any specific piece you would like to hear.
There was also a rooftop for you to enjoy sunset or sunrise although it was a bit windy and cold when we went in mid March. There was also a small outdoor playground for little kids.
We have tried the public bath separately for men and women, not too crowded. The overall experience was great.

A spectacular stay at New Wakasa. The location is perfect, the staff incredibly kind and attentive, and the rooms were beautiful and comfortable. Both dinner and breakfast were amazing. We also loved the thoughtful touches, especially the photo they took of us and the souvenirs. The baths were very clean and relaxing. 100% recommend.
