My wife and I had an excellent experience at Hotel Nepalaya during our Nepal trip. We first stayed here from 24 May to 26 May 2026 before traveling to Pokhara and Nagarkot. After completing our tour, we returned and stayed again from 30 May to 1 June 2026. We were even fortunate enough to get the same room, which made us feel truly welcomed and at home. The staff at Hotel Nepalaya are outstanding. Every team member was friendly, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. Their warm hospitality made our stay comfortable and memorable. The restaurant was another highlight of our stay. The food was delicious, and the restaurant staff were exceptionally courteous, attentive, and friendly. Every meal was enjoyable, and we always felt well taken care of. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, while the hotel's location made it very convenient for exploring Kathmandu. What impressed us most was the consistency of service during both stays. A heartfelt thank you to the entire Hotel Nepalaya team for making our Nepal journey so special. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kathmandu and would be delighted to stay here again on our next trip to Nepal.❤️❤️

In 8 days tour in nepal, we have to stay various hotels, but we enjoyed the most at Nepaloya, rooms are not exceptional, breakfast and rooftop restaurant are mind blowing !! Staffs are cordial too.

I stayed at Hotel Nepalaya and booked a Family Room through Agoda for *** per night. My booking was confirmed, but when I arrived at 10:00 AM with my wife and our 11-year-old daughter, the hotel did not actually have a room available for us. The staff told us they were waiting for a previous guest to check out and asked us to return at 11:00 AM. We came back at noon, and the room was still unavailable. When we returned again at 2:00 PM, they claimed the room was being cleaned, although we could clearly see staff cleaning other rooms instead. We finally received our room at approximately 2:30 PM. What disappointed me most was the complete lack of customer service during this delay. We spent several hours waiting with our 11-year-old daughter, yet the hotel did not offer even a complimentary tea, apology, or any form of compensation. When we asked to speak with the manager, the staff claimed he had already left for the day because it was Saturday. However, we later found the manager on the top floor. After explaining the situation and informing him that his staff had lied about his availability, he simply said there was nothing he could do. He did not apologize or acknowledge the inconvenience caused to our family. The hotel itself also did not meet our expectations in terms of cleanliness. The property appeared poorly maintained, and the overall standard of cleanliness was below what we would expect from a hotel welcoming families and international travelers. The stay became worse during the night. Around 1:00 AM, there was loud arguing and shouting outside our room on the same floor. It appeared that people who had been drinking alcohol on the rooftop were involved. The noise was disruptive and particularly concerning given that we were traveling with our young daughter. As a result, we decided to check out the following day. We then moved to ***, paying about *** more for another Family Room. The difference was significant. The room was much cleaner, room service was prompt, the property was spacious, and it had a beautiful, exceptionally clean restaurant. The additional cost was well worth it. While Hotel Nepalaya may offer a bit better pricing, my experience was overshadowed by poor booking management, lack of accountability from staff and management, below-average cleanliness, and excessive noise. Based on this stay, I would not choose to stay there again and would not recommend it to families expecting reliable service, clean accommodations, and a peaceful stay.
