Cottam's Lodge by Alpine Village Suites

Our stay was enjoyable and the property offered an amazing view. The room was clean and the bed sheets were fresh, which we really appreciated. The only concern we had was that when we opened the drawers, there was noticeable dust inside. This caused us to cough and sneeze a couple of times, though it settled quickly afterward. Aside from that, everything else was comfortable and we had a good experience overall.

This is the kind of place you stay if all you need are 4 walls and a ceiling for the night. There were actually a few more amenities than I expected. There was a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker (and all the coffee fixins), plates and glasses, multiple rolls of paper towels, in addition to the standard linens you might expect. They had great bodywash and hair care products, and plenty of towels. It's an older place, but it works for people like me, who come for activities and just need a place to sleep. The guy who checked me in was cool and helpful and answered any questions I had. I felt safe and secure here, but most importantly, it served its purpose as a home base while I was there hiking. The only thing I did not like was the shower was only partially enclosed. Where you enter, there was only a half glass partition, no door to fully enclose the shower area. I had a cold breeze on my back and ass, and some of the water gets onto the bath mat and floor, which you step on after the shower when you are trying to dry off. Otherwise, it's a great place, and I have no problem staying there again the next time I am in the area.

Beautiful area! Everything was perfect in our room. We are planning to come back to the area again this summer and plan to book again. We saw a lot of wildlife--even a bear! Our family of 4 had plenty of space. We loved having the kitchenette available.

We enjoyed our stay and the cool temperatures in August. There was only one restaurant open with expensive menu offerings. The choices were more expensive than we needed the night we were there. The staff was courteous and helpful. The room was clean with an updated bath and nice linens. It was a good value for the price and beautiful surroundings.
