The Motel was clean and tidy, and close to town, its a nice place to stay

The room was adequate, at best. The pillows were like cement, bedding old-fashioned. We were supposed to stay two nights and left after one. Nobody at front desk to even talk to about why we were leaving, and now they’re refusing to refund our second night.

We were leery driving in. The place is outdated but, thus the price. The refrigerator was turned upon high (we didn’t realize it) and froze our food. So, we had to discard a lot of it. The window opened-that was nice for fresh air. However, the curtain kept falling down. When we tried to tell the office, the person didn’t understand English (some European language). The cleaning service did give us towels and took the trash we didn’t dispose of. NO ICE! The ice machine didn’t work. Couldn’t find anyone to tell. Parking is ambiguous. The space In front of our door didn’t allow enough space for our small Toyota. We could never figure out where we were to park. Be ware of Internet ratings. They aren’t that accurate. We were happy with the space to ret between our visits to the hot springs and eating! Food in Glenwood Springs is very diverse and all so very good!

Pretty nice overall, owners have been there for 45+ years & are super nice & welcoming. Rooms upstairs seemed to be taken care of a little better n w less bugs, but I’m sure if they setup a few bug zappers there would be less of an issue. Rooms are cleaned / restocked daily (besides one out of seven) Service was overall real nice, owners figured out extra room for us to stay & went out of way to make sure we were accommodated.

This was a solid motel. The man working the front desk was super friendly and nice. Was there duct tape in the bathroom holding some tiles up? Yes, but you get what you pay for and this is a very affordable yet comfortable motel. It’s super close to downtown so easy to walk to and from, the bed was comfortable, and the AC worked well. What more could you need? I would stay here again next time I’m in Glenwood.

We stayed back on July 12 2025, and it was the WORST night of my life! The room was infested with bugs! On the walls, ceilings, floors, even under the glass top on the desk! When the sunlight finally came we noticed several of the bugs that had been squashed on the bend of the closet door!! I could not sleep for fear of them crawling on me as they had done while awake! We had been on the road all day and was unsafe to continue our trip before sleeping! It was late and slim picking for rooms without going to another town in either direction. The next morning at check out, my husband took a clear plastic bag full of the bugs I had killed and collected and the lady was not concerned she stated they came from the trees! Whatever the cause, there IS A SOLUTION AND CURE!!! THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE FOR THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM!! When he asked if she could at least refund 50% or something to accommodate for this she flat out refused!!! And so that my story isn't taken for an attempt to get something for free or bad mouth a place because they hurt my feelings, I've got pictures to back up my horrible encounter and proof for my lasting PTSD over that extremely long 7 hour stay!!!! I have videos I'd be happy to share, just ask!! Sleep in your car before staying here!!! There really needs to be a 0 star choice!!

This is a retro hotel that has been kept up very nicely. Yes old fashioned, but Yes, clean, safe, cute. Window box flowers. Spacious room and totally tiled bathroom - I mean totally tiled, everywhere except ceiling - so cute. We will stay here again next year. Parking close to room, very nice staff. Walking distance to restaurants.

Checking in the motel seemed old and charming. The man at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The room is very outdated. There were tiny flying insects EVERYWHERE, which is not necessarily they're fault but the front door was covered with them at night so every time you opened it they would fly in. The bathrooms are old and need repairs. The shower head was good for people less than 5ft tall and it was the type you find in a gym locker room, not good. There were no outlets near the bed that could fit a standard charging block. When checking out, I handed my key (physical key with plastic keychain) to the older lady at the front and she said I needed to give her 2 keys, when they only gave me one. She didn't believe me and was quite rude about it. It wasn't expensive but it definitely wasn't the cheapest option in town. I'll stay elsewhere next time.

My wife and I were in bed asleep when the owner decided to let herself into our room in the middle of the night. I heard the key go in the door, and met her at the door as she opened it. She said she came because of noise? It was quiet as a tomb, every one was in bed. Later called the desk and gave a different reason and they made out it is my fault she let her self in as I didn't hang the do not disturb sign or throw the deadbolt from my side. She just slid her key into the door and let herself in, no call on the phone first, no knock on the door just walk right in, and then give ME attitude at check out instead of apologizing. Plenty other good choices in Glenwood Springs pass this one by.

Stained mattress, blood on the box spring (I slept in my sleeping bag), used coffee packet in the coffee maker, scum ring in both bath tub and sink, Wi-Fi info in room doesn’t match available networks. Room 1, in particular, is very noisy, as it’s adjacent to the highway. For nearly $200 a night (and sold out), do better, Starlight Lodge!
