Our stay at the Daibutsu Ryokan was fantastic. The ryokan is family-run and you immediately feel welcome. The rooms are beautiful and covered in tatami, you sleep comfortably on futons and the family provides you with welcome biscuits and green tea. You can also take advantage of the onsen (separate for men and women) for which you are provided towels, yukata and obi. Breakfast is also excellent both in terms of quality and quantity, especially given the very reasonable price. Overall, the ryokan has an almost magical quality and amongst the places we stayed at in Japan, certainly one of the most memorable.

This was a beautiful experience, it felt like a real Japanese lifestyle, the owners were very serviceable and so sweet, it is a genuine place, not like a modern ryokan, this was the real deal
