HAWAII HOTEL

Staff works very hard every day. Parties are awesome. Cleanliness - they say it’s 4 star hotel. I would give them a 2. I had hair all over my bed when i first came in. I asked for another bedsheet. The staff didn’t even look surprised that there was hair. They gave me another one that also had hair on it! There were stains on the sheets too. However, the price of the hotel was very reasonable! Even though i would not give it 4 stars. Food - good food. You will not go hungry. Waiters are very efficient, sometimes too efficient asking multiple times if you are finished eating so that they can clean up. Drinks are free and you can drink soda all day long. Ice cream is extra charge. Breakfast is very simple. The food did not always sat right with my stomach. Wifi - wifi is good inside not outside on the balcony. Rooms are small. Bathroom smells like sewer and my shower door is very crooked. The sink is tiny. There was NO SOAP in the bathroom. The shower gel smells bad. They only give you one key card for two guests. That is not convenient especially if the other person is sleeping and you have to wake them up because you don’t the card. You can’t take the card with you because no electricity would work without it. The beds are small. The air conditioner makes strange sounds. Pool is great. However, guests are allowed to smoke literally everywhere. For non-smokers, it’s not ideal situation to say the least. There was a British man playing music out of his big speaker like he owns the place. That music was playing on top of the other music played by the hotel. It was very unpleasant to be around that and the hotel staff did nothing to stop that man. When that man eventually stopped playing his music, the hotel played their music so loud - it was uncomfortable. The beach is beautiful. The sellers on the beach are extremely pushy. They tell you to buy cherries and strawberries and make you very uncomfortable. The spa representative from the hotel was very pushy about getting their services as well. BUT they would not tell you or list their service prices on their brochures. (Not related to hotel at all but the water on the beach was too cold to swim. I came in the beginning of July). The staircase is awful. Looks like it hasn’t been washed in a while. Warning to Christians — Buddhas statues and paintings are everywhere. There was also eye painting. Makes you feel very uncomfortable as well. There are only a few flags outside. Why only Russian, English, German, and French? About shopping nearby: There is a store that sells ice cream and little things near the hotel. They are con artists. They show you one price and then you go to check out they double the price saying they did not get a chance to change the price tag (which I found out later they never do). They then charge you the new price. I felt like it happens everywhere. They will also ask you where you are from to figure out how bad they can get one over you. If you are not Turkish prepare to pay get tricked and pay at least double or more. If you are looking for a party-vibe vacation, go to Marmaris. If you are looking for a calm, family-oriented destination, İçmeler is the way to go.
