ITC Grand Chola, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Chennai

I had an absolutely amazing stay at ITC Grand Chola, Chennai, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. I was travelling with three guests, and from the moment we arrived until the time we checked out, everything was exceptionally well taken care of. It is one of those hotels where the scale, elegance and attention to detail come together to create a truly memorable experience. The property itself is spectacular. The grandeur of the architecture, beautifully maintained interiors, spacious common areas and the overall ambience immediately give you a sense of luxury. Despite being a large property, it never felt impersonal. There was a very comfortable and welcoming atmosphere throughout the hotel, and every space felt thoughtfully designed. The service was one of the biggest highlights of our stay. Every member of the staff we interacted with was courteous, professional and genuinely helpful. The team was attentive without being intrusive, and requests were handled promptly and politely. The hospitality felt refined and consistent throughout the property. You can tell that the staff are well trained and take pride in delivering a high standard of service. The room was comfortable, well maintained and thoughtfully appointed. Everything was clean and in order, and the overall room experience was exactly what you would expect from a luxury property of this standard. The bathroom was particularly impressive — spacious, spotless and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The cleanliness throughout the room and bathroom was excellent. The food was another major highlight. We had a very enjoyable dining experience, with good variety, quality ingredients and excellent presentation. The food was flavourful and well prepared, and there was something to suit everyone's preferences. Breakfast was particularly enjoyable, with a wide selection and very good quality. The dining service was equally impressive, with staff being attentive and accommodating. The swimming pool and recreational areas were also excellent. The pool area was beautifully maintained and provided a very relaxing setting. It was a great place to unwind and spend some quality time after a busy day. The overall upkeep of the hotel, including the pool and surrounding areas, was outstanding. What I particularly appreciated was the ambience of the entire property. There is a wonderful combination of traditional Indian grandeur and contemporary luxury. The hotel feels elegant without being unnecessarily flashy, and the attention to architectural and interior details is remarkable. There are beautiful spaces throughout the property, and simply walking around the hotel is an experience in itself. Another thing worth mentioning is the overall cleanliness and maintenance. From the lobby and corridors to the restaurants, pool area, room and washrooms, everything was maintained to a very high standard. It is evident that there is a strong focus on quality and presentation. Most importantly, the stay felt comfortable, relaxed and completely hassle-free. Travelling with a group can sometimes make hotel stays complicated, but everything worked smoothly for us. The staff made sure that we were comfortable and well looked after throughout our visit. Overall, this was a fantastic stay and a genuinely memorable experience. The combination of beautiful architecture, luxurious surroundings, excellent food, immaculate cleanliness, wonderful pool facilities and, above all, exceptional service makes ITC Grand Chola stand out. A special appreciation to the entire team for their professionalism and hospitality. The experience was excellent from beginning to end, and I would be very happy to stay here again. to be honest the check in process was the most terrible experience. from not getting the room avail on time to smoke smell in room. but the duty manager made all efforts to make it up and I believe this is what really matters. the rest of the stay was like in heaven. kudos to the staffs and managers

Got it — here’s the updated review with date + hotel name: I stayed at ITC Grand Chola, Chennai on June 6th and had a very unpleasant experience from check-in till the restaurant services. 1. *Staff Attitude*: No smile, no gracious welcome to guests. The staff were reactive instead of proactive. At no point did we feel comfortable or valued. As Indian guests, we felt we were not paid much attention and felt quite unwelcomed. 2. *Restaurant/Breakfast Service*: During breakfast, the service staff seemed completely disconnected. They did not engage or offer help, and we had to ask multiple times for basic service. 3. *Room Condition*: The service apartment fridge door was rusted and broken. The freezer had heavy frost buildup. This level of maintenance is shocking for a brand like ITC. 4. *Overall*: The warmth and hospitality ITC Grand Chola is known for was missing. Staff hospitality training is urgently required. Expected much better from ITC. Hope management looks into this seriously.
