The staff went out of their way to ensure that we had an enjoyable stay. We were out and about most of the time and just needed a place to sleep. The rooms were comfortable and clean and we all slept well. The breakfast was delicious and the portion sizes were generous (a bit too generous for some of us!). It’s located in a lovely quiet little village that we would have liked to see more of.

Beautiful old country pub hotel in a gorgeous corner of Suffolk. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Bed was comfortable, shower worked well. Food was great. Service was quick and friendly. Would stay again .

A fabulous stay in this lovely country inn in a quiet village on the Suffolk/Norfolk border. Perfectly located for exploring the Suffolk coast and countryside and the Norfolk Broads. A wonderful welcome from Mark and his team. Nothing was too much trouble and the lovely breakfasts set you up for the day. Great sized comfortable en-suite room. The pub is at the heart of the village community and is excellent value for money.

What a hidden gem! Have just stayed here for 2 nights as I was working in the area at a festival and Mark the owner from the outset was so helpful with directions/ my late check in and kept me updated with pictures on how to enter the hotel. The room was cozy and did just the job for my 2 night work stay. Also the breakfast and coffee… top notch!!!

All the staff friendly and helpful. I liked the character beams and wall beams in the period property. Lovely huge comfy bed. My arthritic hands could barely turn the bathroom sink taps on and off as the taps were very stiff. I was cold in the night and early morning and wished there was a room heater I could control myself. The toilet flush took a long time to fill. But on the whole a pleasant stay, thank you very much.

A very last minute booking on my behalf that once realised by the hotel was accepted and accommodated. The manager was exceptionally helpful during our short stay and we had two wonderful meals here. Thank you. We hope to return again in the future. Kim and Isla

We were greeted warmly with clear information as to facilities and services available. Requests were dealt with positively immediately. There was a wide choice on menu, food was excellent and service good. Accommodation has a tired dated appearance but was comfortable and met our needs. Note had been taken that we had requested secure storage for our bikes and that was arranged.

We loved the quietness of the area, the food was very good and good portions and the Staff were brilliant, Mark the owner works tirelessly and makes you very welcome, Andy one of the Barman was very friendly and helpful and could not do enough for you so we would like to thank him especially for making our stay brilliant, we will definitely go back, a big thank you for a lovely weekend 😁 Michael & Shell 👍

A good night's sleep is assured in a characterful room with beams. Ideal for a walking holiday, as there are miles of wonderful footpaths all around. Beautiful scenery near a river. There is really a "Far From The Madding Crowd" ambience in this unspoilt village.

Staff were excellent. Dinner was top rate and breakfast just as good with generous portions. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable, water was hot and the shower worked very well. The only minus points were that my triple room was cramped even for two and the ensuite had no ventilation. However the good points made up for this.
