    A relatively new hotel and a quiet period on visit. The staff were exceptional across all interactions - real genuine care, an authenticity you don't find at many hotels and a real keeness to make your stay special. Thanks again!

    I stayed there for one night and i enjoyed every single detail. The staff treatment was exceptional, starting with stopping the vehicle to check in. The check in process it self and going to the room the staff treated us like royalty. The rooms were exceptionally clean. I have one small comment regarding the breakfast. The room was booked including breakfast We enjoyed the buffet and ordered an egg benadict which was not really enjoyable the sauce on top of the eggs which was hollandaise sauce I assume was watery and it barely had taste. Other dish was spinach omelette which was sad to eat, it had almost zero taste in it. I would definitely go back again but I think I might skip the breakfast.

    This was my final night in Muscat, and I selected this hotel with the intention of having a genuinely restful experience before continuing my journey. I specifically chose a Junior Suite because I was already very tired from travel and wanted quiet, comfort, and thoughtful care on my last evening. Prior to arrival, I contacted the hotel by phone to inform them that I would be arriving late (around 8:00 PM) and that I would require a late check-out. The staff member who took my call confirmed that this request would be noted, and I also left a written note accordingly. As a Mandarin Oriental member, I trusted that this would be managed with appropriate consideration. Unfortunately, the experience upon arrival did not reflect that understanding. The check-in process felt unfriendly and lacked the attentiveness expected from a luxury brand. The staff member escorting me to the room could clearly see that I was exhausted, yet continued with extensive explanations of hotel facilities, despite my clear indication that the only thing I needed at that moment was confirmation regarding check-out timing. Regarding the room allocation, I had already explained that if the assigned room was unavailable for any flexibility due to a back-to-back booking, I was open to being moved to another room. Nevertheless, I was placed in a connecting room and informed that a late check-out was not possible — not even by one hour — because another guest would be arriving. I was then asked why I could not simply use the connecting room instead, which felt dismissive of my prior communication and personal need for rest. What was most disappointing is that despite choosing a higher room category specifically for comfort and recovery, no alternative solution, gesture, or meaningful accommodation was offered at all. Thank you for not offering anything — this, unfortunately, speaks for itself. I had previously read reviews mentioning unfriendly service at this property but chose not to rely on them, as my experiences with Mandarin Oriental in other locations have consistently been far superior. Regrettably, this stay aligned more closely with those reviews than with the standards I associate with the brand. In hindsight, I should have followed the advice to choose a resort or an alternative property in Muscat. Thank you for the efforts of certain team members; however, it is disappointing that my final night in Oman — a moment that should have been calm and restorative — turned out otherwise. This experience has made me seriously reconsider staying at this property in the future.
