Amanar Khaimas Desert Camp

The view was beautiful and couldn’t have been anything better. I only wish I could have spent longer at this camp. Youseff is a great host and will make you feel right at home.

It is a fantastic Desert Camp with spectacular views. A MUST DO when you visit Morocco! 🇲🇦 Youssef and his team made our 2-day stay, which is needed to experience the camp and the dessert, to an unforgettable vacation experience for our whole family. Thanks to the Desert Camp Team, we will come back next time when we are in Morocco.

The tents on the campground were beautifully appointed and felt like luxury hotel rooms, from a clean and comfortable bed to high-quality shower and bathroom areas. The personnel could not have been more attentive and accommodating and were helpful and supportive at every turn. Set dinners were well-priced and were very good. My one cautionary message would be some unexpected additional charges imposed by the camp. They charge 300 MAD ($30 US) per night for critically important nighttime air-conditioning (daytime heat in the Sahara makes nighttime in the tent unbearably warm), and 300 MAD ($30 US) for 4-wheel drive transportation, each way, between the main road in Mergouza (as near to the camp as most cars can go) to the camp. Our two nights at this camp were a fun and memorable experience — visits to nomadic areas and camel rides our favorite highlights — and would highly recommend it.
