We have just returned from our first ever visit to Salou, but I can say with certainty that it won't be our last. We arrived at hotel Casablanca several hours before check-in hoping to be able to leave our bags somewhere - the lovely receptionist went one better and had our room ready for us! The hotel location was perfect for us - in the Old Town near to all the action but not in the thick of it (leave that to the youngsters!) and right on the beach. I had booked a sea view room which did not disappoint (see pictures). We had gone on bed and breakfast basis which was perfect for us as we could load up in the morning (hot food; crispy rolls; cold meats and fruit; cereals; granola; Greek yoghurt; fresh fruit juices and coffee; as well as selection of croissants and pastries) and then head out for the day. There were plenty of bars and cafes as well as beach bars to stop off at during the day depending what took your fancy. Promenade goes all the way to Cambrils (lovely seaside town) around 7km flat walking or you can head the other way through main part of Salou with all it's shops,etc all the way to Cap de Salou along a more winding hilly walk which is around 7-10km. Salou itself has something for everyone. As for hotel Casablanca, pros and cons are as follows:

location right on beach with everything within walking distance.
Fantastic staff (young male and female at breakfast were both friendly, hard working. Both ladies on reception couldn't have been more helpful - even sorted us out with having shower and change of clothes for evening transfer home, even though we officially checked out that morning!)
CONs:
Very small pool that seems to be in shade most of day, although with such a fabulous beach right across the road this wasn't really an issue!

It is a well-maintained hotel with nicely designed rooms, and we loved our balcony. We woke up to a great view every morning! Its located along the main stretch and is a short walk to restaurants and shops. Glad we picked this hotel for our first stay in Salou!
