    Taking 9 members of my wife's family from CDO to Camiguin Island, with ourselves, totaled 11 people. The Camiguin Highland Resort was the perfect venue with large spacious rooms, aircon units that worked without fault, and clean spacious bathrooms. The overall environment is relaxed and casual, with the resorts architecture reminiscent of yesteryear. The outdoor dining area is very spacious and has round tables of various sizes to accommodate visiting groups - our table seated 12 with a massive lazy suzie to rotate the different dishes form person to person. The pool is fantastic, large and its water spotlessly clean and chlorinated to standards. The surrounding gardens are massive, beautiful, well maintained and with plenty of individual and group seating spread throughout. The reception staff for both the morning and afternoon shift were friendly, helpful and accommodating. All 11 of us had dinner at the Highland Resort and the food was freshly cooked and delicious. The menu is broad enough to suit all tastes and we considered the dishes were suitably priced. Waking up in the morning and venturing out to the pool, gardens and breakfast area continued the feeling of the yesteryear experience and being on holiday. It has to be said the Resort sensibly reduces it's running costs by not having fridges, bottled water, or electric kettles in each room. However, 10L bottles of water are provided with cups in central locations on each level of the Resort. If you ask for an electric kettle you will receive one to use free for the duration of your stay. We had no issues with any of this as the rooms were very well priced. Another important note, although we booked 4 rooms via agoda, on the morning of our trip, more family decided to come on the trip. We were fortunately able to get another room when we arrived, but the CHR does not accept credit cards, so the extra room and dinners /drinks were paid in cash. It was just lucky we had that much cash with us as we travel "by card". Again not an issue, but best to know upfront or on arrival. Maintenance is needed in the pool shower and toilet building to bring it up to expectations. The Camiguin Highland Resort is in located in the hills with no busy roads nearby and so is a very quiet and peaceful location. My wife and I will visit with 4-6 close friends next time and stay five days to a week. We loved the Camiguin Highland Resort. Robert Te - Perth - Western Australia.

    The hotel looks grand from the outside, and its gardens are beautiful and clearly maintained by professionals. When we were there, occupancy was very low, so we had the entire pool to ourselves. However, the first room we were given had a strong damp smell, which was disappointing. The explanation was that the hotel is apparently one of the oldest on the island, and the rooms are quite dated. The next morning, I didn’t even have to ask for the manager she approached us herself and asked about our room. For the rest of our stay, we were moved to an upgraded room on the top floor with an ocean view right from the front doors. They more than made up for the inconvenience. Overall, I would stay here again just not on the ground floor.
