The Oxfordshire Golf & Spa Hotel

Good hotel

Lovely golf course hotel with fab views across the countryside. Spa looked good and invited to use it but were too busy. Comfortable room and great cooked breakfast with lovely staff serving.

Lovely location and very reasonably priced large standard bedroom with balcony and good viewd

Honestly, where do I even begin? This place was a complete let-down from start to finish. The miserable, unwelcoming staff, from reception to the bar, made the experience even worse. Customer service was practically non-existent, and the overall attitude was incredibly disappointing. The cleanliness was absolutely appalling. Filthy cutlery, filthy teacups, a dirty pool and grimy plastic chairs. It was honestly shocking to see such poor standards in a place that people pay good money to stay at. The whole venue is in desperate need of a thorough deep clean. The leisure facilities were just as bad. The changing rooms were more like an ordinary leisure centre than somewhere you would expect to enjoy a relaxing break. Missing tiles in the jacuzzi, a gate in the cold showers outside the steam room, and facilities that looked neglected and poorly maintained. It was far from the relaxing, enjoyable experience you would expect. For somewhere that should be offering guests a comfortable and enjoyable stay, the standards were simply unacceptable. Cleanliness, maintenance and customer service should be the bare minimum, yet this place seemed to fail on all three. I left feeling thoroughly disappointed and wondering what I had actually paid for. There are far nicer places to stay in Oxfordshire that offer much better standards, a welcoming atmosphere and value for money. I certainly wouldn’t recommend this place, and I would not return. Management seriously needs to take a look at the state of this establishment and address these issues. Guests deserve far better than this.
