    We have a pleasant stay at Pinewood motel. It looks newer and clean as compare to other motels that we stay in NZ South Island.

    Nice apartment with 2 bedrooms in Fairlie, next to the road leadung to Tekapo. Clean, comfortable beds, nice kitchen and full bathroom and a cozy sitting area. Great location to explore the surrounding area.

    I booked a two-bedroom motel room through Agoda based on the stated condition that children could stay free if they used separate beds. We arrived around 8pm, and the check-in process was smooth, with the room key left for us as arranged. However, the experience the following morning was very disappointing. As we were leaving after returning from an early outing, a staff member approached us in an aggressive and confrontational manner in front of our car regarding my children. I was asked to immediately pay an additional charge, despite clearly explaining and showing the booking conditions from Agoda. The situation was handled poorly, and I felt as though I was being accused of dishonesty. When the manager later got involved, he acknowledged the booking terms and confirmed that no additional payment was required. Unfortunately, the same staff member continued to insist on payment even in the manager’s presence, creating an uncomfortable and unnecessary situation. In the end, I paid under pressure, although Agoda later confirmed the original terms and agreed to refund the amount as credit. Overall, while the manager was reasonable, the unprofessional and confrontational behaviour of the staff member significantly impacted our experience. I would advise others to double-check policies directly with the property and be cautious to avoid similar issues.
