The room was very, very small. We had to stack bags on a shelf 40cm on one side only from the bedThe internet photos are deceptive. The TV didn’t work. The room door rubbed so hard on the carpet, it would not fully open.

Not what I had booked. No one to greet us on arrival. Hotel is now run by I is hotel that is the back of the building of this hotel. When we pressed the buzzer a camera system let’s you into this building and the reception and restaurants are closed. You have to follow the signs and cross a bridge that connects you to the next hotel to check in. Basically looks and feels like an abandoned building that Ibis now Iibis now rent out the rooms. Rooms were clean though, but smelt a little. Wouldn’t book again as it was misleading. However, we booked half board for a night after a long drive from Calais and the food (at Ibis) was good and value for money. The staff were pleasant enough.

Comfortable hotel in nice neighborhood, walking distance to stores, restaurants and downtown, as well as to river, bike paths and parks. It is very worthy to pay an extra $15 to have a superior room. It is much larger than the standard room. Do not get a room on the ground floor, it is small and smelly of cigarettes. The hotel is now entirely non smoking. We had the room 258 which is big and very quiet with a nice view of the town. Bikes can be rented at the Tourism Office in front of the castle (near the train station) for $8 a day. Bike paths are beautiful along the river and very safe.

This hotel is run down and not well maintained. The owners seemed very nice but they would have to invest significant money to upgrade. The bathroom had a big clump of hair on the floor. The air conditioning didn't work. The carpet was stained. Cheap place to stay but we booked for three nights and left after two. You get what you pay for so if you do stay here be aware of what you are getting.
