Hotel Von has one of the absolute best locations in town, making it easy to walk to all the major attractions in Reykjavik.
If you're driving, here's a crucial parking tip: avoid parking in the P1 zone right outside the hotel for too long as it's the most expensive.
Instead, head to P2 or P3 zones. P3 parking is free on Friday nights and throughout the weekend, while P2 is very affordable. I parked in P1 right outside the hotel when I first arrived to unload, but for the rest of my stay, I parked in the P3 zone right outside Fosshotel Baron, which worked out perfectly!

The location and restaurant were nice, but the room fell short. The photos they show must be really old. Room was dusty on the shelves, cracked drywall and dingy tile joints, and major scuffs on the walls. The comforter cover was too short for the comforter! For what they charge, it should be better. I suggested it to my son before we stayed, as he was on a separate vacation to Iceland and he said it was “just okay.” Checking in and out was nice and quick (a plus). Even the dead plants outside the entrance speak to the neglect this hotel has endured.
