    Booked a room, took a taxi only to find their entire hotel closed with just a small notice printed on A4 paper near the entrance. No one was there to assist. Walked with our heavy bags to their adjacent hilton branch as per instructions- told that the intended place of stay was closed. The branch was normally the intended place for transfer but it was also overbooked that day. Suggestion offered by staff - Transfer to an adjacent hotel to a similar room (40 USD less at the time of booking, without any compensation). I broached the idea of a partial refund, or full refund and cancellation - was told not possible. While all this was happening I did a quick search to see that both these hilton branches were still available for booking despite one being closed and the other being fully booked. I am told this is a decision made by their marketing department. There were several other guests of varying nationalities present, all waiting for rooms. Wasted at least an hour there. --- Room itself - Clean, spacious. Window was slightly opened which let in fresh air, along with small flies. Air conditioning touch screen did not function as intended. Wifi speeds were great but we were limited by the number of devices. --- Checkout - Was asked to pay for taxes, which were already pre- paid for during the booking. --- In sum, it feels like there is no comminucation between the hotel branches and within their departments. The policy to list their rooms despite none being available, and then decanting them to cheaper hotels is very questionable. Terrible experience. Would hope no one goes through the same.
