    The hotel was exceptionally clean, and the service was outstanding. Honestly, it was a level of hospitality rarely seen in Australia. Every detail was taken care of, and the staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back!

    My partner and I stayed at the Langham over the Labour Day long weekend to celebrate a birthday and our anniversary. We paid about *** for three nights in a Deluxe Ocean King room. Having stayed at other Langham properties around the world, we had high expectations, and unfortunately this stay did not justify the price. The room was on a low floor and looked directly onto the air conditioning units on the roof of the building opposite. The windows were dirty, which made it hard to enjoy what view there was. The decor felt cold, and the balcony, which is enclosed like a sun room, was too small to relax on, with a lounge chair that sat too upright to lounge in. We were also disappointed by the pool, which is very small for a hotel of this kind. The main problem was that the window on the enclosed balcony would not open. Because the balcony is closed in, that window is the only way to let sea air into the room, so without it the space had no ventilation. We reported it, and an engineer came up at about 10pm but could not fix it. They tried again the next morning while we were at the breakfast buffet, and it still was not resolved. To make up for this, the hotel offered us free breakfast for the rest of our stay. We could not use it because we had early tours and were leaving early the next day, so I asked for the seafood buffet instead, and they agreed. One receptionist told us both meals would be complimentary, but this does not seem to have been recorded. At checkout, they had only applied a credit, and we had to argue the charges before they removed one meal. We still had to pay the difference, which I found unreasonable given the circumstances. For a celebration stay at a Langham, we left very disappointed.
