    I am here in Hampton/Newport News visiting from Maine to take care of my mother who is in hospis. I will get rooms different places but lean more toward certain hotels more than others for a number of reasons. If I am honest with the timeline, everything was fine until last night which was the 2nd time my room was just cancelled after I booked it. The excuse they gave me was you didn't answer your phone. I am a chef working in a fast paced kitchen every day and having phones in your hands goes against OSHA and every other food safety principle ever. If I book a room, the room is booked.....AMEN?? In order to book the room, guess what they ask for.... CREDIT OR DEBIT INFO THAT HAS TO BE APPROVED before the booking is CONFIRMED and given a CONFIRMATION NUMBER. As an educated man with a Bachelors degree in HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT, Advanced in Culinary Arts , and graduating Magna Cum Laude, I have taken the courses and done the work that make me qualified to run this business because I have worked hotels as a front desk agent, an overnight audit manager, and as a houseman for a number of hotels. The fact is that these people dont have a hospitality foundation, education, or spirit at all. They just "work". There is absolutely nothing good going on within these blocked up, dingy, unmanageable, and unprofessional hospitality business of a hotel. I have to quickly find a new hotel room so I have to go. I will return with part 2 soon........
