Out-of-state traveller visiting family in Waukesha for 10 days. I decided to book a room at The Clarke Hotel because it was central to the places I wanted to go in Waukesha. Not only were the people at The Clarke Hotel extremely nice and helpful but the room was absolutely amazing. Located in an historic building, the ceilings are high with excellent lighting and a spacious floorplan. The bathroom was huge and had a walk in shower with seating and multiple showerheads. Heating and cooling is controlled via thermostat. The bar area with a mini-fridge was nice to have alongside a comfortable chair and recliner. The hotel is within walking distance from Riverwalk, several bars and restaurants (including Travieso on the first floor, which I highly recommend), and several historic sites. I had a significantly better experience at The Clarke Hotel than I have had at the usual chain hotels throughout the U.S.

Everything was very nice, from the room to staff to the bar. Also very convenient location.

There was no attendant when we checked in and we had to call for the code for the locked box. Facility is beautiful and convenient for anything downtown.
