    Such a lovely place - the hotel is quite luxurious. Our room had a self-filling onsen tub which was always the right temperature. The room was a generous size with a living room and large balcony as well as a desk area. Plenty of complementary beverages in the fridge as well as coffee beans you could grind yourself! Their coffee actually was very good and not bitter or acidic which was very pleasant. Breakfast was a treat and showcased their heritage in French cuisine. We didn’t eat dinner at the hotel but everything looked spectacular - maybe next time!

    The hiramatsu is clearly a world class place to stay. The views and experience are unlike anything you’ll get. The staff help you with everything you need. The main things to be considerate of are that taxis do not go to this area, so you need to work with the hotel to book a car wherever you go. Additionally, I recommend eating elsewhere in Karuizawa if you want to try authentic Japanese food. The food at the hotel is largely western.
