AWOL Hotel Provincetown

The staff was amazing and very helpful. The property has a very beach vibe and gorgeous views. My one cautionary note is that the platform beds are very hard for older people to get in and out of. Had we known we would have asked if they had more accessible accommodations

The AWOL is spruced up small motel from the 1950's that charges outrageous room rates for what they offer. They're able to get those rates because Provincetown is hugely popular destination with very few actual higher end hotels. This a property that charges over $900 a night (!) for 235 square foot rooms some dates in season. While the renovation that was done to the property in 2018 when it opened as the AWOL has some style and charm, it's feeling a bit in need of some refresh in 2026. AC units feel old and make an incredibly annoying background noise. TV's, while smart TV's, are several years old and not especially user friendly. While the platform bed/built in corner sofa concept makes good use of the small space, having to basically sleep on the floor is not great. Getting up out of bed in the middle of the night is quite an adventure, though the pillows, mattress and bed linens were very good. The bathroom is very small and feeling dated already, with varely any counter space. There's no storage space for your clothes. The floor is a cheap-looking grey laminate. There's a mini fridge placed randomly in the middle of the room against the wall, not hidden in any way - not very "luxury" vibe. There's no table. No chairs. On the plus side, the balcony overlooking the marsh, with a very cozy, comfy built in corner chaise/sofa is great. The location is great and the place has a relaxed vibe, but insanely priced.

Everything about this hotel was an amazing experience! We will definitely be coming back! I loved the office where you could get a bunch of delicious drinks on tap (I loved the teas!!!). I also love how nice everyone at the hotel was and they were all super accommodating! The free bikes were an amazing plus for our trip, and every night you have access to a bonfire and s’mores! I cannot recommend this hotel enough! Sadly we only stayed for only one night, but I know we will be back and for longer!

Where to start? Location is amazing enough to stay at this location in Provincetown, MA . It’s walkable to all the FUN STUFF, but quiet enough and away from all the action to get some R & R. You have everything you could want on property. Wonderful rooms with views of the ocean and incredible sunsets. A beautiful and clean pool for your refreshing dip or some socializing with the rest of the guests. And the fire pits in the evening just round out your evening after a long day of doing whatever your heart desires. They even have bicycles on property for you to borrow and take around the bike paths and explore the area, beaches, and forest. Included is a wonderfully presented continental breakfast…..that you can take away to your balcony on a tray to enjoy the view. The front desk area also has ample choices of snacks and beverages (including adult beverages) ….so no need to go anywhere, if you don’t need to. HEAVEN!! And Erica is awesome - she will give you great advice on where to go, to eat, and who to call for a ride, when you need it.
