    We originally booked 2 nights to just visit Taroko but extended two more nights cuz son loved the pool and the space. Breakfast was def one of the best and we travel extensively. We also got to do yoga and the whole family made incense as part of the free activities. Really fun! Dinner menu can be improved to offer more vegetarian items. 😬 We stayed at Silks Place Taroko for one night as well. Did yoga but their activities was only for one person per booking. We had to pay extra for each family member to make spray. 😬. Def better value, service and food at Lakeshore!

    It was amazing. Location: just a few step from beach, only several kms from Taroko Gorge, there's a bike rental, and shuttle to Xincheng station. The staff, Karina Ho, really nice and helpful. I was losing my bag at the train and she helped us so quick without delay and it solved within minutes. Her English really good.

    Booking this hotel without looking at the ‘30mins away from city center’ is my mistake. I searched Hualien & this appeared on top. I automatically thought this was the best one if not it wouldn’t appear on top. Big mistake. Then I told myself okay maybe this is away from city center so maybe it will be closer to the beach, when I arrive to that hotel thinking I will be near the beach. NOPE. It’s in the middle of nowhere. It’s located in XIN CHENG not HUALIEN. maybe 10-15 mins walk to the beach, 25 mins walk to the nearest train station. Mind you we don’t have a car, there’s no taxi available anywhere unless u ask the hotel to call one for you. it was also raining during my time there so there’s no where to walk to, the only thing to do is to book a taxi to train station then go to hualien city center. When we arrived back to sincheng it was pitch black, uber not available there & no taxi waiting there like in Hualien. I didn’t have a taiwan sim to call any taxi. The only way to get back to the hotel is to walk. So we walked 22 mins passing dark and almost no other human being around that time was only 9pm. So I don’t understand why is this hotel on the top among other better location hotel, it’s not super cheap for their somewhat okay facilities. I don’t get it. I wouldn’t pay that kind of price again for this kind of hotel. Maybe is good enough for locals who drives. The staff are friendly and helpful, that’s the only good thing I can say about this hotel.
