We recently stayed at Secrets Maroma Beach, and it was truly a fabulous and unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, everything felt special. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful—the grounds, beach, pools, restaurants, and overall atmosphere were everything we hoped for. The food was spectacular throughout our entire stay, and we loved the variety and quality of the restaurants. Room service was also wonderful and was another part of the experience that exceeded our expectations. However, what really made Secrets Maroma stand out was the incredible staff. The employees truly make this resort what it is. From the very beginning, we felt welcomed. Claudio, who received us when we arrived and first took us to our room, was extremely polite and welcoming. It was such a wonderful first impression of the resort. Throughout our stay, the employees consistently went above and beyond for us. We were genuinely impressed by how kind, attentive, welcoming, and hardworking everyone was. So many people made us feel special, and I really want to recognize them individually because they deserve it. At the International Café, a huge thank you to Giovanni, Yilmar, Gina, Eliseo, Lucio, Roberto, Lizteth, Rebeca, Carolina, Alejandro, Nestor, and Roger. We spent a lot of time there, and the wonderful service and friendliness made every visit enjoyable. A special mention again to Eliseo, who really stood out to us. At the pool bar, thank you to Ediberto, Edwin, Victor, Julio, and Wilber for taking such great care of us and making our days by the pool even better. At Bordeaux, Pablo was wonderful. At the Italian restaurant, thank you so much to Mauricio and Angel. At Coco Café, Josué, Carlos, Alejandro, and Uriel were fantastic. At Seaside, thank you to Elmer and Alejandro. We also want to recognize Felipe at Himitsu, Katya at the restaurant reception, Juan at the bar, and Hunter at the store. And it wasn’t only the restaurant and bar staff who made an impression. Marcos from Security, Julio at the beach, and Santiago from the garden team also deserve recognition. The level of care throughout this entire resort is remarkable, and it shows that so many people work behind the scenes every day to create the experience guests enjoy. We were also incredibly impressed by the harp and percussion performance in the lobby. It was SO beautiful. It was elegant, artistic, memorable, and perfectly suited to the atmosphere of the resort. We absolutely loved it and would happily watch it again. There is, however, one area where we sincerely hope Secrets Maroma will consider making changes: some of the evening entertainment. Both the Burlesque Show and the Rock Show were, in our opinion, disproportionately sexualized, to the point that it became uncomfortable rather than entertaining. The female dancers’ costumes were extremely revealing, particularly the bottoms, which provided so little coverage that essentially their entire buttocks were visible. This was especially uncomfortable considering that Secrets Maroma is a romantic resort where so many guests are vacationing as couples. There is certainly room for performances to be fun, glamorous, energetic, and even sensual without being so overtly sexualized. The Rock Show was particularly disappointing because it actually started very well. We enjoyed the live band and the rock music and initially thought it was going to be a great show. Unfortunately, as it progressed, the focus increasingly shifted toward highly sexualized dancing. When the performance reached a pole-dancing segment, we ultimately decided to leave. I strongly hope the resort reviews both the choreography and costumes for these shows. The dancers are clearly talented performers, so this criticism is not directed at them personally
