Avila La Fonda Hotel

Vibe: From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is great--decorated in a Hacienda style that feels warm & authentic. Everything is clean & feels relatively new. Some minor scuffs on high traffic areas & some areas of the rug are visibly worn but not gross in anyway. Music playing & fireplace going, create a vibe that makes you feel instantly relaxed. Room: We stayed in a standard room, but it was well equipped with: • Mini kitchenette with the basics for light cooking. • Cozy fireplace & private balcony. • Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. • Pristine linens: towels, robes, and bedding were in excellent condition & smelled wonderfully fresh. Hotel toiletries smelled divine. Amenities: The service here is next-level. You are treated like a VIP all day long with an endless rotation of treats, all included in the stay: • Basket of snacks, bottle of champagne, lil grazing plate await you in your room. • Croissant breakfast & fresh cookies. • Happy Hour, Wine Hour, & even a Pie Hour! Staff: Check-in was seamless. The staff is exceptionally attentive & friendly. Convenient underground parking (or easy street parking) is a huge plus. Location: location is great--one block from the beach & minutes away from the golf course. Walking distance to food & wine tasting. The only minor point worth noting: the walls are a bit thin. You can hear doors opening and closing in the hallway, and if you have a loud neighbor that snores you will hear them--maybe bring ear plugs:-)

So many little touches not found in other hotels - complimentary snacks and water in the room, heated towel warmer, ceiling fan… not to mention all the extra little receptions - wine and cheese at 6pm, pie at 8pm, and to do for croissants for breakfast. Didn’t even need to leave the hotel to find food! Will definitely go back.

This hotel is a gem if you are looking for a botique style stay. The design is colorful with a lot of attention to details. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Everything is clean. The service is extremely friendly and welcoming. There are a number of complimentary food servings during the day in the common area (morning croissants, afternoon wine tasting, etc.).

Weird experience here. I stayed on my way to LA and it was an impulse booking. I was greeted with a very unfriendly staff at reception. The hotel and room are dated but clean. There was no shampoo and the shower water temp was lukewarm so it made for a less than enjoyable morning. The staff later was kind and offered treats in the lobby which I appreciated. Won't stay here again

A great place to stay for adults! Our room was clean and snacks are provided for free. There was a room to either exchange the snacks for different ones or buy extra snacks. That same room also provides movies to borrow and chairs to take to the beach. There are several times to get food for free. It was so much fun.

We appreciate the hospitality and the accommodation provided like no other hotels that we’ve been to. Definitely will be booking in the near future.
