    We’ve been to Bakersfield three times this year and SpringHill Suites has been our home away from home every time we visit. We look forward to seeing everyone there again soon.

    The hotel lobby has been under construction for several days, and it appears that a major renovation is taking place on the ground floor. Unfortunately, Agoda did not mention the construction anywhere in the booking details. After arriving, I looked back at the reviews and realized that other guests had already mentioned it. I wish I had read those reviews before booking. The complimentary breakfast was also disappointing. Instead of the advertised buffet, guests were given preheated or frozen sandwiches in to-go bags, along with cartons of juice and milk. This was not what I expected when booking the hotel. Walking through the lobby was unpleasant because of the construction dust. Whenever guests complained, the front desk staff simply said they would “let the manager know,” but nothing seemed to change. During breakfast pickup, the staff also gave the impression that guests were asking for too much food, making us feel unwelcome. The swimming pool is located right next to the construction area, so it was not an enjoyable place to relax. To make matters worse, the gym was unavailable during our stay. Overall, I was very disappointed that the ongoing construction and reduced amenities were not disclosed before booking. Had I known, I would have chosen a different hotel. Go next door and similar price with more peaceful environments and welcome.
