Friendly smooth check in, nice rooms, strangely small bathrooms and hotel lifts, impression hotel is squeezed into the building. Nice decor. Good breakfast. Superb old port location. Decent VFM

Some reviews say that the rooms are small and too warm in early autumn. This was not our experience. The room we took was massive - so too the bathroom. The hotel was exceptionally located and easy (very inexpensive) to park. A fantastic experience in a lively area of La Rochelle

Upon getting to our room on the third floor, we found it extremely hot. We contacted the front desk and learned air-conditioning on property was turned off for the season on October 1st. The staff was exceptional and put us in a room on the 1st floor which was much cooler. The hotel staff was exceptional and the hotel was clean, in a great location. The issue with the air conditioning seemed to be with Expedia's knowledge of the property, and not the hotel.
