What a gorgeous property! Climbing up a long windy road you are met with an incredible castle like hotel. Surrounded by orchards and flowers you sit on the top of the mountain and look out at a view that is spectacular. The rooms are large and beautifully appointed with cozy down comforters and organic products. It’s a wellness hotel with a spa and pool. The restaurant is all white and filled with flowers from their garden. The food is so fresh and the service is perfect. We are one night at the restaurant. Very gourmet and for us one night was enough. Merano has great restaurants that are more casual but also have spectacular food.

Staff were welcoming and pleasant. The evening meal menu had no prices on it at all which was a bit of a surprise- I found the offerings somewhat odd almost different for the point of being different- the pairings did not really make sense to me or seem attractive. The glass of wine I ordered was the dregs of the bottle and as a result a very small and expensive glass of wine. Breakfast at e25 a head was a very expensive glass of orange juice and croissant!! Overall not our best Relais and Chateau experience.

Whe I tried cancelling the reservation, the person at the front desk, said I would be charged for two nights regardless of Expedia terms and conditions. I asked for the manager and the owner showed up, I ended up paying 50 euros per day, although the bed was a queen size but not independent. They tried to "surprise me", but were not successful. Not proper of a hote, let alone a 5 star hotel of this price.
