I consider my review to be as objective as possible, as I am an experienced traveler. What can I say about the hotel? If you are looking for peace, privacy, decent à la carte food (no buffet), and wonderful, attentive staff, then this hotel is definitely for you. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and surrounded by lush greenery. You literally live in the middle of the jungle — among palm trees, vines, and many interesting animals that do not disturb you at all, so there is no need to be afraid. Yes, there is a pond with crocodiles on the property, but during our 10-day stay we saw a crocodile only once. Rather than being a downside, it adds a sense of exotic adventure and variety to the experience. As for the downsides: if you have mobility issues, a disability, or are traveling with elderly people, you should carefully consider whether this hotel is suitable for you. The hotel is not equipped with ramps. To access one of the restaurants for dinner, you must climb three flights of stairs — there is no elevator or alternative access. The restaurant is located on the second floor. The same applies to access to the beach and the swimming pool, both of which require using stairs. This was quite challenging for my husband (who uses a walker) and for my elderly parents. That said, the staff are very kind and helpful and will assist whenever possible. Great food clean rooms needs a little tlc. Great staff and grounds

Blue Diamond is out of this world. It feels like walking into a "White Lotus" set. Impeccable grounds, gorgeous architecture, EVERY SINGLE staff member was gracious and kind...the food was amazing, the rooms were beautiful. We saw lots of coatis and beautiful birds. The resort was very quiet and the ultimate place to relax. There are activities to do onsite but they were out of our budget.

Lovely space very carefully designed for comfort and enjoyment. It’s an old property and you can see where it’s aging. Our sink had mold in the crevices. Above our sink was a glass ceiling that was cracked allowing leaves to float in. Below our sink ants were burrowing, leaving piles of debris.
