The double bed was small, we barely fitted lying on our back. The room was over decorated with wild fliower and bird wallpaper everywhere. Not restful. There was a good sized bathroom but shower option was only via bath hose, not for us. The additional charge €10 each for continental breakfast was ok, but nothing special. There are extensive grounds which were nice to exercise the dog, but it was raining. We wouldn’t stay again.

The 8-room hotel is very picturesque and was quiet and comfortable. A wonderful stay at Domaine de Chatenay – a beautiful property in a stunning setting. Benoit made us feel very welcome, told us all about the history of the house and provided a fantastic breakfast. We will definitely stay again.

(It has a suspended, polished wooden spiral staircase). The rooms are sympathetically decorated in the manor of the Chateau's period, but the beds are very comfortable and the en suites are well appointed. Although very close to the main Autoroute (And therefore very accessible whilst en route South), once there, all you hear is birdsong. The property is a little difficult to find, first time round, but is close to some very accessible restaurants that cater for all requirements. Breakfast is excellent and nothing is too much trouble for the owner who speaks quite good English.
