Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Karachi Airport Hotel

I recently stayed here for a little staycation with my family, including our two young children (6 years and 1.5 years old). Having stayed here a few years ago, I had fond memories of the ground-floor rooms overlooking the fountain. Those rooms offered a nice sense of space and freedom, allowing us to step outside, relax, and let the kids enjoy the surroundings — including spotting the turtles in the fountain pool! This time, we were offered an upgrade to an Executive Room on the third floor. While the room was clean, the view was pleasant, and the larger TV was a nice touch, the upgrade felt fairly minimal overall compared to my previous experience. Unfortunately, a few things let the room down. The shower lacked proper hot water, which made for an uncomfortable experience, particularly with young children. The bathtub showed some minor wear and could have been cleaner. There was no bar soap, only wall-mounted hand wash, which was difficult for my younger child to reach independently. Only one toothbrush was provided for two adults, and the toothpaste was rather basic. The Muslim shower, on the other hand, had enough pressure to qualify as a tactical weapon — I nicknamed it the “AK-Potty-7!” 😂 One of the highlights was the breakfast buffet, which offered a generous variety of options. There was something for almost everyone, from Western favourites like pancakes, French toast, and doughnuts to Pakistani breakfast staples like qeema and tarkari. The variety and selection genuinely added value to the stay and made breakfast an enjoyable part of the experience. Access to the Executive Lounge was another perk of the room upgrade. It offered plenty of seating, snacks, tea, and a comfortable place to unwind outside the room. The coffee and tea were good, although don't expect a barista-style experience or an extensive coffee menu. One minor downside was that the staff member managing the area repeatedly resealed items with cellophane after guests took something, and a few items didn't seem particularly fresh. A little more attention to freshness and presentation would improve the experience. On the brighter side, room service was prompt, and the food was decent overall, although some portions felt underwhelming for the price. Complimentary cookies and fruit in the room were also a thoughtful touch, while the remaining minibar items were chargeable. The staff deserve particular appreciation: they were courteous, respectful, attentive, and always willing to help. Both check-in and checkout were smooth and hassle-free. Overall verdict: A pleasant family stay with genuinely good service, a generous breakfast spread, and some worthwhile Executive Room perks. However, the room upgrade didn't feel substantial enough to make the experience noticeably better than my previous stay, and issues with hot water, basic bathroom amenities, and lounge freshness took away from the experience. With better room maintenance and more attention to the finer details, this could be a much stronger staycation option for families. I'd happily give credit where it's due, particularly to the staff and breakfast team, but the Executive experience could use a little more polish to justify the upgrade.

Hotel has robust security. Feel safe. Room is clean, breakfast was excellent. Staff are very pleasant and friendly. Location is a bit boring, no mall or shops nearby but it is located next to the international airport. Will come back again.
