    ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ — A Japanese Sanctuary in the Heart of Taichung My second stay at Kashotsu Bettei, and this time I brought my wife — she was absolutely charmed, and honestly, so was I all over again. The owners have created something truly special here: a beautifully conceived Japanese-style sanctuary tucked into a quiet neighborhood just a few blocks from City Hall, with key sights and restaurants all within easy reach. The perfect base, without any of the noise. The rooms are immaculate and thoughtfully designed, with lovely personal touches — distinctive wallpaper, carefully chosen fabrics — that make the space feel curated rather than cookie-cutter. The property itself is very new and everything is in pristine condition. You can feel the care and intention that went into every detail. Breakfast is a simple, delightful spread of Taiwanese and Japanese fare served in the communal area downstairs — a lovely way to start the morning and chat with the owners, who are genuinely warm and charming hosts. For the price, the value is outstanding. This is the kind of hidden gem you want to keep to yourself but can't help telling everyone about. We'll be back.

    Stayed 3N in this place. Central location with lots of amenities within walking distance. Andrew was a great host, nice breakfast every morning and a complimentary laundry service!
