    Nice location with convenient shopping and dining options close by. Staff are friendly and helpful. Noticed this time that cleanliness compromised compared to few years ago, but it’s still reasonably clean. Will choose to stay here next time…

    I spend a lot of time in hotels. This one looked like a decent deal on paper, if you want to be on the north side Madrid-which is a great modern city with friendly people. But this hotel must be struggling financially or else they are just cheap. The safe in my first room did not work. 3rd floor. I thought it might be the batteries, but some of safe circuit boards are broken. They moved me to the 4th floor. The Aircon did not work well in that room and it would not get cool. The lobby is cool and comfortable. I noticed young travelers seemed to be congregating there to work on laptops. So either they’re having air conditioning problems, or they just can’t afford to keep the place cool. The floors above lobby are warm. Telltale sign is elevator are warm/hot. about 74°F on typical mid June day. My thermostat was set at max cool, but the room never really got cool. Reception said there is one “cool” setting for the entire hotel. The female afternoon receptionist is a little condescending, whereas the guys are more accommodating. The walls are thin. I’m just a happy-go-lucky guy passing through, but think a lot of the hotel guests have sick family members in the nearby children’s hospital. I feel bad for them. The Dragon sculptures out front are cool looking. They should call it Dragon Feet, if you know what I mean.
