Miami Hotel Melbourne

I enjoy staying here as it feels safe and quiet. It is easy to get to and is within walking distance of public transport making it very convenient. I did notice there was a lot of marks on the walls and the shower had a significant amount of mould in the grout but other than that I enjoyed my stay

We decided to do a night ghost tour at the Old Melbournes Gaol and because we live in the Latrobe Valley and the tour finished at 10.30pm, we needed somewhere close by to stay. The first thing that attracted us to The Miami Hotel was the AMAZING PRICE advertised through booking.com- $99 per night. Being so cheap we decided to stay 2 nights and make a weekend of it. Whilst searching the deals I came across the Agoda deal - $76 per night!! So we only paid $*** for 2 nights in a nice, tidy and comfortable room with a little kitchen area and separate bathroom . The shower was huge! The Old Melbourne Gaol was only a 15 minute tram ride away from the Miami Hotel -the tram stop was approximately 50 metres from the hotel. The following day we ventured out to the Queen Victoria Market which was only 2 stops away from the hotel. We were also happy to find an IGA Supermarket only a 3 minute walk away so we bought some ingredients to cook for tea in the motel’s kitchen which was clean and had so many different cooking appliances. (There was a fridge, kettle and coffee/tea/sugar in our room but no cooking appliances) We noticed the Comedy Lounge which was a 3 minute walk away but unfortunately didn’t have time to go in so we plan on visiting that on our next stay! Such a great location, central to many shops and dining areas. We even stumbled across a late night, outdoor wine tasting event whilst strolling the streets admiring the beautiful lit up view of the city buildings (we also had that view from our room’s window) The only thing I could somewhat complain about was the cost of private off street parking - $25 per night- but we were able to find free parking out on the street being a weekend. We Definitely recommend The Miami Hotel to anyone passing through, working away or even planning a little getaway.

Miami hotel is located in West Melbourne about a ten minute walk from the north Melbourne train station and the 216 bus route. It's got no elevators. It has a laundry (1st floor) and kitchen (2nd floor). The laundry required coins and you need to have your own detergent. I didn't bother. The kitchen is fine they have induction microwaves which heat well. The rest of it is kinda typical shared kitchen not that nice. My room was on the first floor. It was pretty cold when I visited but the staff kindly gave me a heater. I was using one of the thick blankets but it had a lot of hair on it from previous visitors. The shower was decently clean, some dark grout which can't be helped. There were squeeze bottles for shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, and then for shaving cream, soap and whatnot. There's a small kitchenette with some hangers, a fridge and kettle/tea/coffee. The side table has a USB port charger. Housekeeping I think just folds your towels doesn't replace them so I felt a bit confused and gross not really knowing which towel I'd used to shower with already. The hotel was a bit noisy and I could hear people stomping on different floors, people talking in the hall at full volume and sounds from outside. Pretty sure smoke or weed or something was coming into my room on one of my days from outside. Can't close the window. The staff said you could advise them if it was too noisy and they'd speak to the other individuals. The aircon is synchronised with all rooms so you can't put it on heat. It's set to cool in summer/over early autumn. It was close to some places I could eat and it was very conveniently located. I would stay here again.

The bathroom and hot water facilities were reliable. making daily routines hassle free. Transport options and walkability around the area were convenient, with market nearby.
