    Pros: 1. The view from the room is great. I have a Lake View Suite. The rooms are very clean. Room is huge and love their amenities. I love the decorations. 2. Service is amazing from the moment we checked in to checking out. 3. Breakfast was great, with wide spread of local and international cuisine. 4. We had dinner at the Chinese restaurant and it was great. Cons: 1. It is quite an old hotel therefore, there are very limited electrical outlets (1). There is only 1 outlet by the bed. We had to take turns charging our electronics. 2. As our rooms were suite, we have a living room and bedroom. The lights in the living room is quite dim. 3. Air conditioning is also not cold enough for us, even though we turned it to the min temp and max fan. 4. It is also quite expensive. This would be a great place to stay if you intend to stay in the hotel and not explore the city, in order to utilize the facilities for the price paid. I would return to this hotel if I don't intend to explore the city and just stay in the hotel to relax.

    We enjoyed an amazing weekend at the Lalu as a couple! The hotel really lives up to its reputation - wonderful service, delicious food, a peaceful oasis, and most importantly - the most beautiful view over gorgeous Sun Moon Lake. We stayed in the Lake Side Suite and were treated to a huge room with a separate sitting area as well as an outside balcony where we could enjoy lakeside views and hear the birds chirping. We came for the annual Sun Moon Lake swim, and the location was fantastic. I called ahead to ask if we could get our breakfasts boxed up, since I didn't know what time we would arrive back from the swim. The staff went above and beyond and packed up the most delicious breakfast, including OJ, which we were able to enjoy in our suite when we came back. The room is equipped with lovely amenities, Lalu tea, a Bose CD player (that was a bit of a throwback), The hotel itself is architecturally magnificent, with a gorgeous infinity pool, and subtle granite and wood accents throughout. I really love the minimalist aethestic of the hotel and its peaceful atmosphere. Food at the Oriental Brasserie was delicious. I didn't get a chance to try the spa but hope to do so on my next visit. The Lalu is a truly an oasis for tired city people and a delight for the senses.

    The Lalu commands the best location and views and has a stunning and timeless architecture design. However, after many years is showing its age especially in terms of technology. Modern travelers today expect usb charging ports and many more charging outlets compared to when the hotel was built
