    Great hotel on the marine. Dual key room was great for our family excellent size and lovely view. The pool was not freezing cold. Not much to do with kids around the marina area we did have to drive to Torquay that had more for kidd

    We stayed at the Mantra so that we would have accommodation for the Sounds of Rock Festival. The room was functional, with a small little fridge and countertop. Just remember: no microwave, so tea and coffee-making facilities. The little bathroom had a very noisy exhaust fan. If you can choose your room we were in Tower 2 and at the ends of each tower there's a small room and a really large room. They may be for private residents so ask if you want a bigger-sized room. Ours was sufficient for our needs, with a little balcony, a double bed, a desk, and a bathroom with a spa. The lighting was quite harsh fluorescent lighting: perhaps it would be good if they could change it to warm lighting if you want a romantic getaway, but minor points. The price was reasonable. I would stay here again.

    All the taps needed maintenance which we reported. Couldn't find extra blanket in the cupboards. Great view, close to restaurants & tour boats. Clean & tidy.

    We recently stayed at Mantra Hervey Bay for two nights to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday. We paid *** for a two-bedroom apartment with an additional room, expecting a lovely family weekend. As my mother has mobility difficulties, I called on Monday 5 October to check the arrangements. I was told it was fortunate I had called because the rooms had not yet been allocated, and that a room with a walk-in shower could be arranged. Having received no confirmation, I called again on Wednesday, only to be told that a walk-in shower was not available with our booking. Instead, we would need to pay an additional *** for another room. When I asked for a discount, I was told this was already the discounted price. I found this incredibly disappointing. We had already spent *** on accommodation, and I wasn’t asking for an upgrade or luxury, simply a shower my 80-year-old mother could safely access. I initially felt we had little choice but to accept the additional charge. However, after discussing it with Mum, she insisted we shouldn’t spend another *** just so she could have a shower. Unfortunately, Mum was involved in a minor car accident on the way to Hervey Bay, delaying her arrival until Saturday morning. I was subsequently advised that the additional room would now cost half the original amount because it had gone unused\. While I appreciated the reduced offer, we ultimately declined the additional room altogether. Throughout the process there were numerous telephone calls and missed calls on both sides, although I always returned calls and made every effort to resolve the matter. What disappointed me most was the lack of consistency and flexibility. I had made the effort to contact the hotel well before our arrival, specifically to avoid any issues. Instead, we were left dealing with uncertainty and unexpected costs. This was meant to be a special family celebration, not an exercise in negotiating accommodation arrangements. Unfortunately, the whole experience left a bad taste in our mouths and put a real dampener on what should have been a memorable weekend. I would have expected a more understanding and customer\-focused approach from Mantra, particularly for an elderly guest celebrating such an important milestone.
