    I have been at the hotel before and I gave very good rating. This time..... The room, the reception staff, very disappointing. I booked a standard double with a city view. I got a wall view. The reception staff said it is interior garden .... Wasn't the case. Two lights on the room weren't working. There was one light by the bed and that didn't work. The light on the hallways towards the bathroom didn't work, and there were also stairs to get to the bathroom. The receptions staff answers were very poor and disappointing. This is the forth time at this hotel. They don't value a returning customer. The positive was David and one the ladies that clean who have been very kind, helpful and understanding. Without them would have been a 0.

    Very dated Not clean Tv was broken staff did replace it but should be checked out before you arrive Toilet seat was stained yellow couldn’t see any white Couldn’t really get hot water Bath was disgusting Staff at reception were friendly Hotel good location as 5 mins from the lanes

    I needed somewhere to crash last minute in Brighton and this place was fantastic lovely Bright and always happy to help. Everyone was lovely from the Young lad on reception who couldn’t do enough to help to the bubbly friendly girls at the bar who got me countless cups of ice during the hot weather. Would absolutely recommend. They also made my dog very welcome. Lovely experience and a lovely stay.

    I recently stayed at the Old Ship Hotel and wanted to share a realistic look at the current experience. The hotel is historic, but it is currently undergoing significant refurbishment. Expect to see scaffolding on the exterior and peeling paint throughout the property as they work on the building. The biggest drawback for me was the climate control. There is no air conditioning, and in warmer weather, the room gets very hot. You are forced to keep the windows open, which unfortunately lets in a significant amount of noise from the seagulls. In terms of the room quality and overall experience, it is very similar to a standard budget hotel like a Travelodge, though the pricing reflects a higher tier. If air conditioning and a quiet environment are dealbreakers for you, I’d strongly recommend paying a premium for a different property that offers modern climate control for better sleep. It’s a classic building, but it requires some patience with the current state of things.
