The room was basic and in a separate adjoining building, but plenty of space. There was no lift to the room. Space for clothes and an iron/ironng board were provided. A kettle and instant coffee, but no tea bags (unusual for UK). The bathroom was clean and soap/shampoo were provided.

Although abit dated, the hotel was clean and staff were great. The dinner at night was excellant, we had the best steak and meals were great. The only down size was the breakfast im afraid, mainly as the cooked breakfast was bought to you as soon as you went in and you were eating cereals and was cold. Not much choice.

This hotel is pretty dated, but was warm and clean throughout the stay. Breakfast could have been better as it was served cold. This was rectified after mentioning it. All in all for the price we paid it was a fair hotel. We would stay there again.

Clean room but in a separate building from main hotel building, it looked like a private house and felt like you where going into someone's home. Everything felt old about the room but bed was comfy, lots of noise from people coming and going from they're rooms and our room was 2 doors away from a noisy front door. Website stated buffet breakfast but when we got there we where given a sheet of paper with 6 or 7 breakfast items on it and asked to tick what we would like. I am vegetarian and there was very little I could eat from the list...tomatoes and beans I think was the choice so I didn't go to breakfast, my Husband did go and was very underwhelmed by it saying he got one of each item he had ticked on the sheet of paper, he would have taken a few slices of bacon and a couple more sausages had it been the advertised buffet breakfast. The hotel had a nice bar area and we enjoyed several rounds of drinks. The young lady who checked us in and served at the bar all night was super nice, very friendly, professional and a great asset to the hotel

Mostly a good stay. Hotel is a little tired but very clean. Staff were very helpful and attentive. We had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent. However, the breakfast was very poor, which was disappointing considering how good the dinner was.

Nice enough hotel room with a comfortable, clean bed and clean, albeit dated, bathroom. One thing to note is that the walls are very thin between the rooms and corridors. We could hear everything from full conversations and cups of tea being made, to snoring and everything else… Lots of cobwebs up high around the ceiling and curtain pelmet too.

Stayed here many years ago and many changes to this hotel - for what they charge it is excellent value for money - however on arrival I was discussing checking in, early I may add, when the phone rang and the general manager, the lady attending to us, decided to stop our interaction in favour of answering the phone - I detest this action - this call could be heard by all standing in reception and tasted approx 5 mins - I must say I was not amused and had I not already paid in advance I would have walked away - after the call which was made public knowledge I was attended to and taken, early, to my room - however the way we were spoken to was not very apt - the rooms are excellent value for money and I would recommend room 215 apart from the shower which was virtually impossible to regulated

Comfortable room Disappointing that, despite 3 requests for the problem to be remedied, it was only upon departure that we were advised of the fault in the system which resulted in no TV/media/entertainment output for the stay. Problems are occasionally unavoidable, but information/advice should be given when problems do occur. The breakfast is fine, but (given that many visitors are on a leisure trip) it would be more relaxed if the hours of availability were extended later.

It was a very poor hotel. 1.The alarm on the door lock kept going off even when nobody was near it. 2. No housekeeping, you had to ask for it and they only did what you mentioned 3. No hot water for 3 days out of 4, including the shower where the drain was broken and had to be very careful incase your hurt you foot. 4. Carpet tacks sticking out of the floor husband hurt his foot several times. 5. Key was programmed for 4 nights but had to keep going down stairs (no lift) to get it re-programmed everyday. 6. Breakfast not very hot. 7. STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY

The property could do with some rejuvenating but the service and evening meal made up for this by far. All the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant is a ‘steak house’, affordable and cooked to perfection. We had one veggie in our party and she was catered for easily. Our group was three, the room was huge.

What an awful hotel! My room was poky wee thing with scrapped paintwork and dents in the wall. The TV looked great until I found out was not connected to an ariel so did not get any TV stations, reception told me I could log into my own streaming service I wanted to but couldn't see what was wrong with not having TV stations. The shower, at its coldest setting would have burned the skin off your back so I couldn't have a shower, again explained this to reception and all they said was thanks for letting us know, no sorry! The sound proofing was no existant so I could hear the couple on either side of me chatting and the person above getting up at 6am this morning. As for the food, the steak I ordered rare came well done which I would have sent back if the waiter hadn't disappeared, to fair the steak was good but not how I wanted. The included breakfast was made up of fried eggs that you could have patched your shoe sole with, bacon that was incredibly salty and sausages that probably hadnt seen meat. All told not a stay I intend to repeat. I dont have that high standards, usually stay in Premier Inns but this was awful!

Desperate need of a refresh, very noisy from floorboards and people shouting in the corridor, walls were extremely thin! Slept rubbish and it set me up for long days driving. Shower was boiling or freezing A lot of rubbish outside the window You pay for what you get, it was cheap but the staff were fantastic and the breakie was good!

Stayed here before but things have improved Breakfast is now full breakfast and food is replaced quickly when food runs out. Had an evening meal which was delicious. Staff were very helpful with buses into town. Given option to have room cleaned daily or when required.

Staff are friendly. The overall external appearance of the building looks 'tired'. The entrance looks refurbished and you can see throughout the hotel where it's part refurbished and some areas in need of attention. There is a secure door entry system to each room which money has been spent on. Priority should be, to get the basic room services up to scratch. Our room was clean but had a television that didn't work, a poor quality mixer shower and dated bathroom. These things mean a lot to guests. If you get the room to a good standard, you have satisfied guests with returning trade.

While the room was relatively comfortable, I found the overall property "tired" and in need of a good facelift. In my bathroom, there was no plug for the sink, so shaving was a problem and the plug in the bath was broken, such that when I filled the bathtub, I could not get the plug out to empty the water out. The buffet breakfast was "so-so."

Worst hotel experience ever. We accidentally locked our keys inside the room and had to wait two full hours for someone to let us in—because only the cleaning crew had access to open the door. Completely unacceptable.
