Jiufen Golden House

1. There were 2 windows in the bedroom. Once the windows were opened, the breeze would come into the room, making it really comfortable. Also, there are screens on the windows, so mosquitoes cannot come in. 2. The property provided a refilled water station downstairs so we could refill our water bottles. 3. Good location. We discovered/used an uphill shortcut to go to the old street (which was a very nice discovery!). But the property itself was a bit of a challenge to find/locate in the first place, even though we had the instructions from the property owner.

1. Our room was on the second floor. No view through the bedroom windows. (only saw the rooftop of a neighbour). 2. The nice view picture in the advertisement, which shows the rooftop terrace and the faraway sea harbour, was inaccessible to second-floor guests. 3. We needed grounded outlets, but the sockets/outlets inside the room were 2-prong outlets/ungrounded outlets only. 4. Some ants came in from the washroom high window. 5. The property was located on a small/not major street, but we still could hear noises coming from the street (people were talking when they passed the property). 6. Poor soundproofing. We stayed on the second floor, and we could hear upstairs flushing their toilet. 7. The squared carpet on the washroom floor/entrance was too light, and it was slippery when stepped on, which might easily cause an injury. 8. Breakfast offered was late in the day (around 10am?), and we left the house around 7-8am. On the first day, the breakfast was left on the dining table until we returned late in the afternoon, and it was not in the fridge as promised. We did not take breakfast on the second morning for the same reason (the offer was late). It would be nice to deduct the money from the room cost.

Location was great, owner was really nice and brought us even early breakfast.

オーナーが宿泊費を集金に来て、クレジットでの手続き済みと伝えると、頭ごなしに現金で払わなければ宿泊費はいらないから今すぐ出て行けと、スマホの翻訳機で一方的にやられた。booking.comに問い合わせるので領収書を書いてもらったが、宛名がなくドル記号もないので、泊まりのスタッフに指示して書いてもらった。素敵な施設とロケーションには似合わない、ビジネスを知らない恐い女性オーナーの出会いは人生初だった。

location was very convenient

There was no view or balcony. Property advertised balcony and sea or mountain view in all rooms. Our room did not have any of those which was a great disappointment because we chose this property over other alternatives specifically looking to have a view. Breakfast was also not as advertised. It was a cold sandwich dropped off at dinning table on hall & self serve instant coffee. Payment had to be made in cash upon arrival to property which was not clearly specified during reservation.
