    On arrival the staff were friendly and courteous. However when I got to my room I realised I had no phone reception, data wouldn’t work and there was no hotel wifi. On going down to ask about this I was told the wifi broken. This basically meant my phone didn’t work and I couldn’t contact anyone unless I went outside the hotel! This made me feel very unsafe and it was very inconvenient. When I got in to bed the mattress was the toughest and hardest I’ve ever slept on. It could have been the mattress topper had been left off - but either scenario is pretty shocking. I had a terrible nights sleep and woke early, desperate to leave. When I spoke to a member of staff she told me that the manager wasn’t there but said something about the house keeping being unable to lift the mattress? Unfortunately I couldn’t understand what she was saying but it clearly did point to a problem. This is clearly a budget hotel and rough round the edges but surely it can’t be so disfunctional that it is making basic mistakes like this? It’s the last thing you want as a guest who has paid money! Coming home I emailed a complaint via the email address on the hotel website and have not heard anything. I’d definitely avoid this hotel in the future.

    The staff were really friendly. I asked at reception when I checked in whether I needed to book for breakfast, he explained where the oom was. I was asking if I needed to book for breakfast (cooked,) in the morning. No cooked breakfast available which was disappointing. However the kind staff cooked an omlette for me. The light above my bed did not work and also the sliding door to the toilet and shower was off its runners, just propped against the wall. I did mention these issues on my departure and they said if I had told them when I first arrived they would have moved me to another room. The lady I spoke to was very helpful and kind and the room was clean and the bed comfortable.
