    Everything was nice except for the malfunctioning smoke detectors that went off past 1 AM after we had gone to bed. No staff was on site to check on the issue. Many guests including myself tried calling the emergency number listed, but it took a while before I was finally able to talk to someone who promised to take care of the issue. But no staff showed up. Not sure whether one of the guests or the staff called to 911 but a fire truck showed up after around 10 minutes. They determined that it was a false alarm (thankfully!). They tried to access the office/reception room to find the alarm control panel, but the room was locked and no staff was present. The firefighters had to pick the lock to gain access. They didn’t find any panel. It turned out the smoke detectors were controlled by an app that they had no access. They finally had to unplug and remove the batteries from the smoke detectors to turn off the blaring alarm noise. By then it was already around 2 AM. I understand that something like this was probably beyond the management’s control, but what was most disappointing was that there was no acknowledgement or apology at all for the inconvenience it caused all the guests. I had sent a message to the hotel via their website, but there’s no response whatsoever.
