Comfort Inn Hobart-Merrillville I-65

Room was clean and staff was friendly.

Did not use the pool - but saw a sign saying it was not heated. At first glance, room appeared to be good. However, i first noticed full-length mirror was very smudged, most likely from a child. In the bathroom, several long strands of hair were dangling from the hairdryer which was positioned at my face level next to sink. The room had 2 queen beds even though i was traveling alone. When i pulled back the covers of one bed, there were cookie(?) crumbs; pulling covers back further revealed more crumbs. Other bed seemed okay, but when i went to check under the mattress edge for bedbugs, the space between mattress and wall was filthy (no bugs). It was almost midnight, so i pushed mattress further towards wall and made do. I took photos that night. The next day, the manager/owner? took a look at my photos and immediately went to remedy my concerns. Cleanliness left a lot to be desired but front desk staff was exceptional.

Clean room everything was good except breakfast there was no flavor & even the waffles we not good we have stayed before & food was good but these last 2 stays food was not good we had to go buy breakfast bc it just wasn’t worth eating.

Checked in around 730p and desk clerk was super nice and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. I appreciated having 2 king beds in the room. Hotel is older and the wear is showing but still great. Would have given a higher rating but for the fact it snowed overnight and we learned the owner doesn't have a contract with a snow plowing service. He then parked a truck and trailer in space next to the door and wouldn't move it so we had to push a cart with our stuff through several inches of snow to load our car. If it had snowed a little more, we would have been stuck in the lot.

Nice hot tub! Great value for price

Called the motel before I booked was told pool was open that is what we wanted fo our grandson get there and was told pool has ben shut down for weeks never stayed just left

The WORST room I've stayed in, in a long time. The room hadn't even been vacuumed, there was dust everywhere, and I found hair in the bed. The outlets didn't work in the bathroom, the drains in the sink, bathtub, and whirlpool tub were all broken. The furniture was incredibly run-down and the room/hallways smelled horrible.
